Experience Africa
If I fell in love with Africa living in a comely land as Liguria is, a unique beauty…. Africa has an inexplicable charm which hits you straight to the heart and above all it completely changes life and perception of things.
My first trip to Africa was in 1999 and I already noticed something light years ahead especially in some areas, but above all it was it’s soul that struck me.
I have always travelled a lot, from the age of 18 years old and regularly visited different parts of the world. My best was the United States and however they have some cold places. Then I discovered Southern Africa!

How to describe the yearning of Africa I do not know, I just know that waking up in the silence of the bush, fall asleep knowing that out there are all the animals that we usually see in documentaries right before us. You have this ancestral contact with Mama Afrika … something that changes you forever.
The rhythms of nature, the rhythm of life.

The Italians of Africa
The one who deserves the credit of this discovery was my step father who lived in Africa for 22 yrs starting from the age of 27. He left for a country that no one before in Italy knew and on the map it gave the impression of being really far away from home… at the bottom of the world. As the first travelers he sailed from Venice and joined his cousin (who came from the same Italian birthplace) in Durban, and married a South African woman of same Italian origin. AND SO….The Italians of Africa group was created. I was so fascinated by their tales they shared even nowadays too that I decided to leave and try to understand the culture. When I left and came to Africa I finally understood that my destiny would have been inextricably linked to the Rainbow Nation.

More DetailsDid you know that Gin & Tonic (G&T), the cocktail, was introduced by the army of the British East India Company in India. In India and other tropical regions, malaria was a persistent problem. In the 1700s it was discovered by Scottish doctor George Cleghorn that quinine could be used to prevent and treat the disease. The quinine was drunk in tonic water, however the bitter taste was unpleasant. British officers in India in the early 19th century took to adding a mixture of water, sugar, lime and gin to the quinine in order to make the drink more palatable, thus gin and tonic was born. and I’m pleased Read more
More DetailsDo you remind the spectacular scene of the flight above the african savana? Well , when I landed in Botswana, during one of my first african trips, I thought to be part of that movie. The air strip was really short and I felt catapulted in the middle of nowhere, but the feeling of the bush higher up , to look at the herds of elephants , antilopes and other animals was something breathless, unique and moving in its beauty And when i put my feet on the ground not least other emotions…. Can you imagine doing a walking safari and run into a rhino only a few feet? And Read more
More DetailsOne of the most exciting experience in my life was attending for one week a tracks and signs course in the estreme bush The bush school was incredibly moving but at the same time very challenging. For several hours every day, sometimes even under a burning sky, we were trying to recognize the different kind of animal tracks: male, female, baby animals, which directions they took, what they were doing… Life in the bush teaches you to observe everything, to orientate spotting trees, sky, every form of life To listen to every noise, to sharpen your hearing and then during the night every sound is amplified and if you are Read more
More DetailsBack from the most beautiful experience I’ve ever done: the Kgalagadi desert. Luckily I had the chance to travel the world and the 7 seas 🙂 but this desert has really something magic. My perception during my stay was to be out of the world : semilunar landscapes, amazing skies, close encounters with prides of lions, Kalahari lions. We stayed in unforgettable places, discovering hidden sites, got in touch with local populations, the bushmen. They explained that nature can supply them with what they need to survive. Nature can help human beings in every aspect. We walked in the dry and sometimes sandy desert and we noticed every kind of Read more
More DetailsOne of the most exciting experiences I’ve ever done I had it at the beginning of this year camping in a special camping area of the Kruger Park. Africa offers a wealth of surprises and wonders to discover even after years of explorations. If you love to live into the wild, this is the experience. Only the fact of setting up a tent is a funny moment, at the least for me ‘cause it was the first time After a drink at sunset, there’s nothing more typical than prepare a braai under the stars surrounded by hyenas behind fences attracted from the scent of meat and then admire the vault Read more
More DetailsOther deliciousness are biltong (variety of dried meat), a very tasty snack you can eat in every moment also while driving through the wide and well kept roads of the Rainbow Nation. Images to be taken and stuck in your mind. If you visit the country you will appreciate. Bunny Chow , typical recipe of the wide Indian community who lives in the Durban area, it was one of the most sold dish during the second world war Potjiekos is a stew made of meat and vegetables also paradisiac for the non vegetarians only. It takes the name from the three feet pot used in the traditional south African cooking Read more
More DetailsTravelling is growth, emotion, discovery, passion and also a sensorial experience, we realize never as today in a pandemic period.. Suddenly everything stops ! We can’t explore new lands, we can’t go to the restaurant, we can’t sit at a bar having a drink but nowadays on Internet we can look for a a new sensorial experience: the Ethnic Food Delivery , a relatively new way to know local specialties of distant places. Do you know flavours of the South African land? South Africa is rich in culinary traditions , first of all Braai (Afrikaans word for grill) consolidated habit in Namibia, Botswana, Zambia too. It’s considerably the best way Read more
